When I started my photography business, I was perfectly happy hiding behind the camera, thank you very much.
I moved to the U.S. from Ukraine as a young adult and built my life from scratch. Before photography, I worked in California and New York as a graphic designer and marketing professional across real estate, publishing, and manufacturing. I learned everything from visual communication and desktop publishing to SEO and SEM. I understood how businesses market themselves, build brands, and attract customers.
When my daughter was born, I fell in love with photography, taught myself everything I could, and turned my passion into a business.
Yes, I’m 100% self-taught!
I knew how to make other people look amazing, but when it was my turn? Cue the awkward posing, the where do I put my hands? crisis, and the what do I even say? spiral.
